Helana Township Cemetery & Road Levy Renewals, 2 (November 2011)
Two Helana Township Cemetery & Road Levy Renewal measures were on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the township of Helana which is in Antrim County.
Both measures were approved
The first measure sought to renew the current cemetery levy which is set at a rate of .25 mills for a further twenty years in order to continue to pay for cemetery maintenance costs in the township.
The second measure sought to renew the current road levy which is set at a rate of $.75 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further ten years in order to continue to pay for road construction and maintenance costs in the township.

Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
Cemetery Question: Shall the Township of Helena levy up to (1/4) mill for twenty (20) years on all nonexempt property taxes in Helena Township for the general operation and maintenance of the Helena Township Cemetery during the 2011 through 2030?
Road Question: Shall the tax limitation on general ad valorem taxes within Helena Township, imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution be increased for said township by up to 0.75 mill ($0.75 per $1,000.00 of taxable value upon real and tangible property), for a period of ten (10) years, 2011 through 2020 inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for road construction and maintenance? If approved and levied in its entirety, it is estimated that the 0.75 mill would raise an estimated $83,939 for the township when first levied in 2011.[2] |
