Aquino (Democratic Party) won re-election to the Hawaii State Senate to represent District 19 outright in the Democratic primary on August 10, 2024, after the general election was canceled.
Biography
Henry Aquino was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Aquino graduated from Waipahu High School in 1995. He earned an associate degree in administration of justice from Honolulu Community College, a bachelor's degree in public administration from the University of Hawaii at West Oahu, and a master's degree in communication from Hawaii Pacific University.[1][2]
Aquino's career experience includes working as the executive director and a program coordinator with the Waipahu Community Association. He has served as the director of the Waipahu Community Foundation and the Leeward Oahu Lions Club.[1][2]

Aquino won re-election in the 2012 election for Hawaii House of Representatives District 38. Aquino ran unopposed in the August 11 Democratic primary and ran unopposed in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[9][10]

Aquino won re-election to the 35th District seat in 2010. Aquino defeated Inam Rahman in the September 18 primary. The general election took place on November 2, 2010. Reginald Yago ran on the Republican ticket for this seat.[11]

On November 4, 2008, Aquino won election to the Hawaii House of Representatives from Hawaii's 35th District, defeating Steven Antonio (R). Aquino received 5,566 votes in the election while Antonio received 998 votes.[12] Aquino raised $44,417 for his campaign; Antonio raised $125.[13]
