The Georgia Election of County Boards of Education Amendment, also known as Amendment 6, was on the ballot in Georgia on November 8, 1966, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The measure provided a method for local laws and referendums to change the manner in which members of county boards of education and school superintendents are elected or appointed, their term of office, residency requirements, as well as methods for filling vacancies and determining the number of board members.[1]
