A Grand Blanc Mosquito Control Levy Increase measure was on the August 3, 2010 ballot in the township of Grand Blanc which is in Genesee County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 3,449 (64.25%) Approveda
  • NO 1,919 (35.75%)[1]

This measure sought to increase the local mosquito control levy to $.23 per $1,000 of assessed property for a further four years in order to help pay for mosquito control services offered in the township.[2]


The question on the ballot:

MOSQUITO CONTROL MILLAGE

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in the Township of Grand Blanc, Genesee County, Michigan, be increased, and the Township Board authorized to levy not to exceed .2377 mills ($.2377 cents on each $1,000 of Taxable Valuation) for a period of four (4) years 2010 through 2014, inclusive for the purpose of providing funds for Mosquito Control. The estimated revenue this increase will produce during the Calendar Year 2010 is $293,660. (This is a renewal of the Mosquito Millage that expired with the 2009 tax levy).[3]
