Farheen Hakeem
Farheen Hakeem (b. December 6, 1975 Chicago, IL) was a Green Party candidate for the Minnesota State Senate, District 61 in the October 18, 2011 special election. Hakeem is running to fill the vacancy created when Linda Berglin (D) retired after 38 years in the Minnesota Legislature.[1][2]
Hakeem was the 2010 Green Party candidate for Governor of Minnesota. She previously ran for the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2008, and for Minneapolis Mayor in 2005.[3]
Elections
2011
Hakeem was defeated by Jeff Hayden (D) in the October 18 special election. Bruce Lundeen (R) and Matt Brillhart (I) also ran. Hakeem came in second, losing by a 595-1856 margin.[4]
2010
Hakeem faced Tom Emmer (R), Mark Dayton (D), and Tom Horner (Independence) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[5]
