Carpenter was a 2016 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of Indiana.[1] He was defeated by Lynn Coleman in the Democratic primary.[2]

Carpenter was a 2014 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of Indiana.[3] Carpenter was defeated by Joe Bock in the Democratic primary on May 6, 2014.[4]
