On April 8, 2013, Zweifel's campaign manager Mike Pridemore said that he would not run for governor in order to be able to spend time with his daughters and avoid the possibility of a divisive party primary.[3]
2012
Zweifel announced in June 2011 that he would be seeking re-election as Missouri State Treasurer in 2012.[4] He was unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary.[5] State Rep. Cole McNary (R) and Sean O'Toole were also unopposed for their respective parties. Zweifel defeated both challengers in the general election on November 6, 2012.[6]
