Carmen Arroyo
Carmen Arroyo (Democratic Party) was a member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 84. She assumed office in 2003. She left office on January 1, 2021.
Arroyo (Proven Leader Party) ran for re-election to the New York State Assembly to represent District 84. She lost in the general election on November 3, 2020. She was disqualified from the Democratic primary scheduled on June 23, 2020.
Arroyo was first elected to the chamber in a special election in February 1994. She previously served District 74 in the New York State Assembly from 1994 to 2002. Her political experience includes being a member and president of Community School Board #7, and a member of Community School Board #18.
Biography
Arroyo earned a secretarial-bookkeeper degree from Sixto Febus Business School in Puerto Rico, her A.A. from Eugenio Maria de Hostos Community College and her B.A. in School of New Resources from the College of New Rochelle.[1] Her professional experience includes being the author of Mis Poesias and working as an Executive Director to the South Bronx Community Corporation.[2]
