Issue positions
In an essay to the Charlotte Observer, McManus stated:
"I will make public health and safety my top priority. After the 2004 E. Coli outbreak at the State Fair, public safety should have been priority one. Then in 2011, we had more than 30 additional cases of E. Coli illness from the State Fair, and it was clear the incumbent Commissioner had to go."[1]
He went on to say, "I am Pro-God, Pro-Family, Pro-Gun Owner, Pro-Tax Relief, and fully support the rights of property owners and our farmers."[1]
