The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 20, 2014. Scott Ellis Ferrin ran as a Democratic. Norm Thurston defeated William Snider, Ben Summerhalder and Karen Ellingson in the Republican convention. Jason Christensen ran as an Independent American candidate. Thurston defeated Ferrin and Christensen in the general election.[1]
