This page is a list by state of which images can legally be uploaded and used on Ballotpedia because:


  • Ballotpedia's staff, or a Ballotpedia user/volunteer, has obtained permission to use the images/set of images on Ballotpedia.
  • Ballotpedia's staff has ascertained to their satisfaction that the images are in the public domain, or are available under a re-use provision such as the GFDL.
  • Ballotpedia:Image copyright tags

Arkansas

California

Images from California state government websites that were in any way "involved in the governmental process" and "prepared, owned, used or retained by any state or local agency" or officer are in the public domain.

  • House Republicans: Images are public domain, according to an email from a Connecticut legislative staffer received by a Ballotpedia staff member in January 2011.
  • Senate Democrats: Attribute images as "Courtesy of the Connecticut Senate Democrats."
  • Senate Republicans: Images are in the public domain.
