Alabama Special County School Tax, Amendment 6 (1950)

The Alabama Special County School Tax, Amendment 6, also known as Amendment 6, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 7, 1950, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that several school districts in Monroe County be authorized to levy an additional special tax of 30 cents on each $100 worth of taxable property for public school purposes; provided such tax and the time it is to continue shall have been first submitted to the vote of the qualified electors of the said school tax district in which tax is to be collected and voted for by a majority of those voting at such election.[1]
