Elections for the Michigan State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election took place on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. Cyndi Peltonen defeated Ryan Fishman in the Democratic primary. Five candidates faced off in the Republican primary; Marty Knollenberg won, with Rocky Raczkowski finishing second. Knollenberg defeated Peltonen in the general election.[2][3][1][4]

1.Fixing the crumbling infrastructure ( Roads, bridges and drinking water pipes), fund education and expunging student loan debt interest . 2.Repealing No-fault auto insurance. The government has no rights to coerce people to choose a specific type of auto-insurance 3. Cutting and Repealing pension tax 4. Addressing property tax foreclosure issue 5. last but not least , addressing the high cost of emergency room in our hospitals. 6. Address struggling family issues

I read more world news and local and national news. Books can be easily obsolete

Moral integrity, fairness and being aware of domestic and international issues.

Passionate about getting things done right Reliable, transparent, and not a flip-flop About 30 years in education. Had a positive impact on more than 20 000 Michigan students over the past 20 years

Deliver on what was promised during the campaign, and listening to people.

Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics?
No. The only thing that is needed is the willingness to do thing right.
What do you perceive to be your state’s greatest challenges over the next decade?
Education, crumbling infrastructure, tax , property tax foreclosure and jobs
What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and the state legislature?
Cooperation not coercion

Yes , because at the end of the day, you need some votes to pass a bill.
What process do you favor for redistricting?
Too many parameters are involved in that process. It will take a broader discussion to have an idea that would be more objective.
If you are not currently a member of your party’s leadership in the legislature, would you be interested in joining the leadership? If so, in what role?
Right now, I'm campaigning to address the issues that are important to the people of my district. I'll think about other things later.
Is there a particular legislator, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after?
There are many good legislators out there in both parties.
Are you interested in running for a different political office (for example, the U.S. Congress or governor) in the future?
Not now.
Both sitting legislators and candidates for office hear many personal stories from the residents of their district. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching, memorable, or impactful?
In my district I heard many people are unhappy with the road infrastructure and the high cost of hospital bills.
