Scott McCoy was a Democratic member of the Utah State Senate. He representing the 2nd District from 2005 until resigning December 4, 2009. McCoy stated that he wanted to devote more time to his law practice.[1]

Education

McCoy earned his B.A. from William Jewell College. He went on to earn his M.A. from George Washington University. He then received his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University.

McCoy was appointed the Utah State Senate in February of 2005. He served in the senate representing the 2nd District until his resignation December 4, 2009.

On November 7, 2006, McCoy was elected to the 2nd District Seat in the Utah State Senate, defeating opponents Joseph Jarvis (R), Ken Larsen (I) and Ken Bowers (C).[2]

McCoy raised $129,141 for her campaign while Jarvis raised $49,323. Larsen and Bowers each raised $0.[3]
