Sam Coleman (Tennessee)
Sam Coleman (Democratic Party) is a judge for Division X of the Davidson County General Sessions Court in Tennessee. He assumed office in 2017. His current term ends on September 1, 2030.
Coleman (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for the Division X judge of the Davidson County General Sessions Court in Tennessee. He won in the general election on August 4, 2022.
Biography
Coleman received a B.S. in political science from Tennessee State University, going on to earn an M.A. in public administration there as well. He also holds a J.D. from the Nashville School of Law.
Coleman has the following professional experience:
- 2003-2011, 2015-2017: Councilman, Nashville Metro Council
- 2004-2010: Division of Internal Affairs
- 1994-2004: Security specialist, Department of Youth Development and Department of Children's Services
- 1978-1994: Department of Corrections
He has also served as an adjunct instructor at Nashville Paralegal Career School, Tennessee Correction Academy, Daymar Institute and National College.[1]

2015
The city of Nashville, Tennessee, held nonpartisan elections for mayor and metro council on August 6, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was May 21, 2015. All 41 metro council seats—including the office of vice mayor—were up for election. In District 33, Sam Coleman defeated Jimmy Gafford. Incumbent Robert Duvall was term-limited. He ran for election to an at-large seat.[2][3]

2010
Coleman ran in the 2010 election for Tennessee House of Representatives District 60. Coleman was defeated by Jim Gotto (R) in the general election on November 2, 2010. Coleman defeated Tommy Bradley, Larry Crim, Charles Hager, and Chris Tobe in the Democratic primary election on August 5, 2010.[4][5]
