Steven J. Levin is the chief judge of the 19th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed to the court by former Governor Jeb Bush in 1999, and he was re-elected by voters in 2008 and 2014.[1][2][3][4][5] His current six-year term expires on January 4, 2021.[6]

Levin has served as chief judge since 2009.[2]

As an unopposed candidate, he was automatically re-elected without appearing on the ballot. [5] 

Education

Levin received his B.A. in political science and his J.D. from the University of Florida in 1980 and 1983, respectively.[7]

Career

After serving as a law clerk, Levin began his career in 1983 as an associate of Joseph J. Higgins, P.A. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The following year, he became an assistant state attorney. He worked in that capacity, serving in both the 7th and 19th Circuits, until he was appointed to the 19th Judicial Circuit Court in 1999.[2][7]
