Stan Wise
Stan Wise is a former member of the Georgia Public Service Commission, representing District 5. Wise, a Republican, was first elected in 1994. He served as Chairman in 1997, 1999, 2006, and 2011.[1] Wise resigned effective February 20, 2018.[2]
Biography
Wise owned and operated an insurance business in Cobb County for 20 years. From 1992 to 1994 he was a Board Member of the ten-county Atlanta Regional Commission. He was first elected to the GPSC in 1994 served until 2018.[1]

Wise was first elected to represent District 5 on the Georgia Public Service Commission in 1994. He was subsequently re-elected three times, most recently on November 6, 2012. He served as the commission Chairman in 1997, 1999, 2006, and 2011. Wise resigned effective February 20, 2018.[2]

Stan Wise endorsed Newt Gingrich in the 2012 presidential election.[4]

Wise ran successfully for re-election in 2012. He defeated Pam Davidson in the Republican primary on July 31. No Democrats filed for office, but Wise faced Libertarian candidate David Staples, whom he defeated, in the general election on November 6, 2012.[5][6]
