South Dakota Property Tax Limitation, Amendment C (1988)

The South Dakota Property Tax Limitation Amendment, also known as Amendment C, was on the November 8, 1988 ballot in South Dakota as an initiated constitutional amendment, where it was defeated. The measure would have placed a maximum level for property taxes and permitted property values to be increased by two percent per year. The measure also would have allowed cities, counties and taxing districts to impose undefined special taxes.[1][2]
