The South Dakota Nuclear Waste Disposal Initiative, also known as Initiative 1, was on the November 6, 1984 ballot in South Dakota as an indirect initiated state statute, where it was approved. The measure required the approval of the voters on questions of nuclear waste disposal or participation in nuclear waste disposal compacts.
