Four of the seven seats on the Ogden School District school board were up for general election on November 8, 2016. District 1 incumbent Don Belnap defeated Paul Rivers to win re-election to his seat. Incumbent Jennifer Zundel also won re-election to her seat by defeating challenger Roger Condie for the District 3 seat. Nancy Blair defeated Sue Ann Burton for the open District 5 seat after incumbent Shane Story did not run for re-election. District 6 incumbent Susan Richards ran unopposed and won re-election to her seat.[2]

Ogden School District is located in Weber County, Utah. The county seat is Ogden. Weber County was home to 243,645 residents in 2015, according to the United States Census Bureau.[5] The district was the 13th-largest school district in the state in the 2013–2014 school year and served 12,620 students.[6]

Demographics

Weber County underperformed in comparison to Utah as a whole in terms of higher education achievement from 2010 to 2014. The United States Census Bureau found that 23.2 percent of county residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree, compared to 30.6 percent of state residents.
