Robert Q. Whitwell
Robert Q. Whitwell is a judge for the 18th Chancery District of Mississippi. He was appointed by Governor Phil Bryant on August 7, 2013, filling the vacancy created when Edwin H. Roberts, Jr. passed away the previous July.[1] He was re-elected on November 4, 2014, for a term that begins in 2015 and expires in 2018.[2][3]

General: He defeated Helen Kennedy Robinson in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 57.3 percent of the vote.

Education
Whitwell earned a bachelor's degree from Delta State University, going on to receive his J.D. from the University of Mississippi in 1972.[1]
Career
Prior to his judicial appointment in 2013, Whitwell worked as a partner with the law firm of Farese, Farese & Farese, PA. He also served as a municipal court judge in Horn Lake, Mississippi from 1975-1985 and was later appointed U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Mississippi.[1]
