The New York Transportation and Infrastructure Bond, Proposal 1, also known as Proposal 1, was on the ballot in New York on November 8, 1983, as a legislatively referred bond question. It was approved. This bond measure authorized for "the creation of a state debt in the amount of $1,250,000,000 to provide moneys for the single purpose of preserving, enhancing, restoring, and improving the quality of the state's transportation infrastructure system."[1]
