The New York Purchase of Railroad Commuter Cars, Amendment 3, also known as Proposed Amendment No. 3, was on the ballot in New York on November 7, 1961, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure authorized the payment by the state of not more than $100 million for the Port Authority of New York for the purchase and lease of railroad commuter cars.[1]
