Margaret Doherty
Margaret Doherty (Democratic Party) was a member of the Oregon House of Representatives, representing District 35. She assumed office in 2009. She left office on January 10, 2021.
Doherty (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Oregon House of Representatives to represent District 35. She won in the general election on November 6, 2018.
On January 3, 2020, Doherty announced she would not seek re-election in 2020.[1]
Biography
Doherty earned her bachelor's degree in Speech Communications/Theater from Portland State University and her master's degree from Lewis and Clark College. Her professional experience includes being the owner of a Floral Design Business and a retired teacher from Milwaukie High School. Doherty is a consultant for the Oregon Education Association and member of the Tigard Planning Commission.[2]

2014
Elections for the Oregon House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 11, 2014. Incumbent Margaret Doherty was unopposed in the Democratic primary. She also ran as a write-in candidate on the Republican party ticket. John S. Gerboth ran as a Libertarian candidate. Doherty defeated Gerboth in the general election.[9][10][11]

Doherty won re-election in the 2012 election for Oregon House of Representatives District 35. Doherty was unopposed in the May 15 Democratic primary and defeated John Goodhouse (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[12][13][14]
2010
Doherty won re-election to District 35 in 2010. She had no primary opposition but was challenged by Gordon Fiddes in the general election which took place on November 2, 2010.[15][16]
