This election was held to replace John Conyers Jr. (D). On December 5, 2017, Conyers announced his resignation from office, effective immediately. The announcement came amid sexual harassment allegations and calls for Conyers' resignation from the Democratic leadership.[3] The winner completed the rest of the 2017-2018 term to which Conyers was elected.

David Dudenhoefer, Royce Kinniebrew, Clyde Darnell Lynch, Danetta Simpson, and Jonathan Pommerville ran as write-in candidates in the general election. David Dudenhoefer ran as a write-in candidate in the Republican primary, but he did not receive enough votes to advance to the general election.[4]

After a 30+ year career in property management, I am now my mother's caregiver. My side-gigs are working the Detroit Tigers games, and subbing in elementary schools. I am also a power broker with Navigate Power, David Allen Capital, and Symmetry Financial Group.

I came on board with the US Taxpayers Party with my plan, The Option To Recover, to resolve the mortgage crisis and housing bubble of 2008, which I developed in my graduate studies. The UST put me on the ballot for state representative to share my plan, and I came in 2nd. I've been nominated by the Party in each election cycle since then.

I earned my MBA Degree from Cornerstone University, summa cum laude. From years prior, at University of Michigan-Dearborn, I have a Baccalaureate for Environmental Studies, and a Diploma from Detroit Catholic Central High School.

I love when I have free time for gardening, TV binging, or road trips. On Sunday mornings, you will find me at Church, where I am in charge of the volunteer cleaning team, and I teach students for their Confirmation.

I have been the Chancellor of my Knights of Columbus Council for ten years, and a board member of Lifespan since the 1980's, promoting bio-ethics.

I grew up on the westside of Detroit, in the Warrendale neighborhood.

  • County Commissioner is a part-time position with full-time pay. I will propose to adjust the commissioner compensation accordingly, but it may be difficult, since the other commissioners themselves are the ones to decide on their own pay.
  • Article IV, Section 4 of the US Constitution guarantees a republican form of government, which applies to the government of Wayne County, too. There is no authorization for a democratic form, even though the Wayne County Charter Preamble calls democracy a freedom we enjoy. Accordingly, there is an obvious discrepancy in the adoption of the Charter in 1981 by the electorate in a referendum, rather than by our representatives, the commissioners, in a constitutionally amending process. Referendums, as well as initiatives, are pure democracy, where 51% always beats 49%, and may lead to the tyranny of mob rule. Our constitutionally designed system is set in place to avoid this. Our Charter was adopted unconstitutionally, which makes it void.
  • The scope of government is getting out of hand. New regulations are added daily. This impacts we the people by increasing the cost, i.e. debt, of government programs, and also by decreasing the freedoms of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We must particularly guard against public-private partnerships, which help themselves to taxed revenues, yet are beyond accountability to we the people. Moreover, we must not let international agencies dictate our local policies. I say our local fire marshals should not be usurped by the international fire code, for example, and our public health directors should not take orders from the World Health Organization.
The US Taxpayers Party is the affiliate in Michigan of the Constitution Party. We just want the government to follow the Constitution!
County Commissioner is important because it is one of the basic layers of local government, to protect home rule.
I look up to St. Joan of Arc. Her mission appeared to be unreasonable to everyone, yet she had determination to pursue it through every obstacle. I consider her one of my patron saints, and I hope to make it to Heaven to meet her.
"The Naked Communist" by W. Cleon Skousen, a book from 1958 which describes the communist infiltration into many institutions, with the intent of world domination.
There can be no religious test required for public service, however, those with the Christian trait of self-sacrifice are the most trustworthy public functionaries.
You would want me in office if you want someone who adheres to the Constitution.
The Commission is charged with approving the budget submitted by the Executive, and to approve the people appointed by the Executive. These responsibilities should not require full-time work. The Charter should be amended to compensate Commissioners on a part-time basis.
I remember the announcement in 2nd Grade that President Kennedy was killed. The class said a prayer for him.
"Uh-Oh" by Robert Fulgham is my favorite. It is a collection of essays. Some make me cry, and some make me laugh.
"You should just be yourself, unless you can be Batman! Always be Batman."
The Notre Dame University Fight Song.
My downfall has been taking on too much at one time. I just can't say no.
The Commissioners hold the purse-strings of the Public Health Department, and if the PHD goes off the rails again in World Health Organization mandates, then the Commissioners should cancel its appropriations.
If you can read and write, and do math, then you are skilled enough to be Commissioner.
I like Dad Jokes, like .... A dad joke is not a dad joke until it is full groan!
US Taxpayers Party of Michigan, and the Constitution Party Committee of Wayne County
The work of public functionaries should be open and available (at little or no cost) upon request. "Transparency" is meaningless; for instance, glass is transparent, and you can see through it, but you usually do not see the glass itself. We see what is beyond the glass, but the transparent glass itself remains hidden.

I'm a native Detroiter, from the Warrendale neighborhood, now living in Dearborn Heights. I've always lived "one driveway apart" from my neighbors, and I cannot imagine any other way. I enjoy the camaraderie of being together, whether gardening, or shoveling snow, or just having coffee. When asked to contribute or assist someone, I'm the type that can't say No.

Thus, I am involved with several organizations in worthy causes, and that's how I've found myself running for office. My To-Do List is jammed full, and each task tends to take me down another rabbit hole. I don't mind it really, but sometimes I am drawn to just watch reruns of Blue Bloods on TV.

I hope you will consider voting for me for WSU Governor. I have tasks to pursue here, and I am unlike typical candidates from major political parties, who award their main activists with the glory of a nomination, even if they have no particular agenda upon winning the seat. (My apologies in advance to any of my opponents who do in fact have a purpose for being a candidate for this job.)
  • The WSU research lab inflicts torture on dogs, with experiments that literally run the dogs to death. Cardiac data is acquired, but it is not useful for care for humans. Man's best friend needs an advocate to end this program.
  • One must wonder how tuition-cost increases outpace the rate of inflation. College campuses are continuously under construction, yet the covid lockdowns show us that in-situ learning is not necessary. Where does all that money go, or for that matter, where does it come from, and why?
  • The WSU Mission is to "create" knowledge. It is appropriate to "discover" knowledge, not create it, which implies Truth is relative and empirical evidence is unimportant. If so, then we'd all be in trouble.
I am strongly opposed to the two propositions on the ballot, to open avenues of voting fraud, and to make Michigan the most dangerous place in the country for pre-born babies. I am voting No on both.

Many observers in the 2020 general election indicated the potential ways that could be used to submit invalid votes. Surprisingly, the Promote The Vote proposition legalizes them. The problem is in no chain-of-custody, where ballots may have no way to validate how they were handled from start to finish. Our elections should not be like the voting for the players of the baseball all-star games, when fans are encouraged to vote multiple times!

The Reproductive Freedom proposition is very misleading. It removes the current protections for women, children, parents, and medical professionals. The summary language that appears on the ballots does not indicate these dangers. If this passes, we will be allowing the gruesome procedure of abortion during childbirth; the sale of aborted baby body parts; abortion upon minors without parental consent or knowledge; sex-change therapy upon minors without parental knowledge or consent; abortion in unregulated facilities, without even a medical doctor present; and more. Michigan is historically prolife, being the first state to ban capital punishment.

If these matters pass by a simple majority, they become constitutional amendments, and become very difficult to change when we'd realized the tragedy involved.
I want to see higher education, continuing education, and trade school education available for all who seek it. In doing so, financial obstacles are unacceptable. Third-party payment of tuition by lenders removes a great degree of accountability to hold down cost increases, just as medical insurance payments has done on medical expenses. The 8-year term of a WSU Governor should be enough time to delve into the issue of unaffordable education.
I want them to say, "I really liked that guy!"
I was seven years old when President Kennedy was assassinated. The report came in when I was in school. The teacher was horrified. It seemed in the moment that time stood still, and I was unsure how to react. The teacher led the class in a prayer for the President.
It is a part-time position with no salary, so it takes a dedicated individual to seek this office.
It is absolutely unimportant to have such experience. The ability to read and write and think are what's important. I believe most Michigan voters say we have had enough of career politicians.
Most important will be the ability to communicate with other Board members, especially when viewpoints are varied.
A businessman was running late to get to a business meeting. He was driving round and round the building where the meeting was, looking for a parking spot. In his desperation, he prays aloud, "Lord, if You will help me find a parking spot here, I promise to stop swearing, stop drinking, and start going to church every Sunday!" Just then a car pulled out of a parking spot right near the front door. The businessman said, "Never mind! I got one."
