Brook answered the question, "What is your political philosophy?" on Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form. Below is his response:
“

I first ran for office to serve my community on my local public school board. I am running for office now to serve my community again, but this time in Congress. I do not seek a career in Congress. Instead, I seek the opportunity to go there and solve problems. I will do that first by running a campaign and being a Representative who focuses on people and issues instead of dollars and fundraising. The money chase is getting worse every year and it is corroding our democracy. We must end pay-to-play, dialing-for-dollars, the trading of large gifts for political favors, and the undue influence of PACs to restore trust in Congress and get it working for people again.[2]

I believe our Congress should adhere to the following Greek Proverb: Societies grow great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in. I am running to bring this sensibility to Congress.[2]
