|She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Morris Brown College and a Master of Public Health from Saint Louis University's School of Public Health. She was one of a few selected for the Eliminating Health Disparities traineeship program, created by the US Surgeon General. As a result of this opportunity, she was able to learn more about the many diseases which impact communities disproportionately and ways to educate the public on preventive measures.
Ms. Edwards is highly engaged with healthcare issues that the average Georgia family faces. She has been advocating for expanding Medicaid, speaking at seminars on healthcare prevention within communities in Georgia, and assisting senior citizens with prescription coverage directly with pharmaceutical companies.
Montenia CARES and her focus is SERVICE to others as she wants to improve the quality of living for citizens of State Senate District 30 and the people of Georgia as a whole.- Edwards Cares
