Linda Carter (New Jersey)
Linda Carter (Democratic Party) is a member of the New Jersey General Assembly, representing District 22. She assumed office on May 24, 2018. Her current term ends on January 13, 2026.
Carter (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the New Jersey General Assembly to represent District 22. She declared candidacy for the Democratic primary scheduled on June 10, 2025.[source]
Carter replaced former Rep. Gerald Green (D), who passed away on April 18, 2018.[1][2]
Biography
Carter previously served on the Union County Freeholder Board. She was elected to the board in 2010 and in 2013 became the first African American woman to serve as the chairwoman. She also served as a commissioner of the Middlesex County Utilities Authority, commissioner of the Raritan Valley Rail Coalition, and at-large councilwoman for the 1st and 4th wards in Plainfield, New Jersey. Her professional experience includes working as a public school teacher and for AT&T.[2]
