I met all the filing requirements, Claire Kempner did not. Notice of Candidacy for Claire Kemper was not filed prior to 12 p.m. on December 15, 2023 because the Committee Name, Committee Address, Committee Address CSZ, and the Committee Phone were never filled out on the Pitt County Candidates' Website.
Lenton Brown is the son of sharecroppers and the great grandson of slaves. His father had only a fifth-grade education and was taken out of school to work in the fields as a child.
Lenton Brown has during his entire life sought to conjugate two verbs- to have and to become.
Lenton excelled in school and in the fifth grade announced to his family that he would be attending college. He began teaching himself music in the seventh grade and by the 10th grade had started playing music for choruses at Bertie Senior High. He took advanced courses like Greek Mythology, French, Physics, Algebra, Geometry, Chemistry, Biology, and Music. He was an Honor Graduate at Bertie Senior High School. His biography was published in Who’s Who Among American High School Students: 73-74 & 74-75 and The Society of Distinguished High School Students. Brown was inducted into the National Beta Club.
He matriculated to Shaw University where he studied music and received an award for Academic Excellence. He earned his degree from East Carolina in Political Science with a minor in Psychology. He is a licensed Broker/Realtor. Brown is the legitimate candidate in the race!
  • I will introduce legislation to use a portion of the state's billion-dollar surplus to provide free tuition at all the state's community colleges and four-year institutions for families earning less than $100,000 per year. I oppose all increases in homeowners, renters, and vehicle insurance.

. I am running to turn North Carolina Blue.

I will introduce legislation Assembly to limit the North Carolina Division of Health Benefits ("DHB") Health Management Systems (HMS) from taking the homes and assets of Medicaid recipients which forces patients to choose between getting the health care they need and leaving a roof over their children's head.

I will always support a woman's right to choose.
  • I am running to bring integrity back to the North Carolina Board of Elections. I am running to end the unprovoked brutal beatings and alleged hangings of black inmates in the North Carolina's Prison System. I am running to end the framing and wrongful terminations of black officers using false evidence for reporting excessive use of force incidents by their white counterparts. I pledge complete and total support for the second amendment. I will personally introduce a bill legalizing permitless concealed and open carry in the State. It is time to raise the minimum wage in North Carolina to a living wage of approximately $15.00 per hour and indexed to the cost of living. The last time the minimum wage was increased was 2008.
  • I will work to ensure energy independence for the United States by developing our own natural resources in this country. I will introduce legislation to encourage investment in historically economically disadvantaged areas in Pitt County such as West Greenville. It is time we valued all our hardworking state employees by giving them a significant pay increase. We need to provide incentives to bring back the film industry to North Carolina. When lawyers intentionally betray the trust of their clients; they need to be immediately and permanently disbarred from the practice of law and they need to serve time in a state or federal prison. I will introduce legislation to criminalize this behavior. I strongly support Term Limits.
I pledge to deal with the tough issues that most politicians and senior officials at the Department of Public Safety and the Attorney General have allegedly been covering up like the fact that black inmates are brutally beaten and allegedly hanged in the state's prisons and black officers are routinely framed and terminated using false evidence for reporting or even witnessing such incidents which results in 40% understaffing.

I will personally introduce legislation to end the abominable process by which the State takes the family homes of poor people who die after receiving state aid and kicks their children out of the home at age 18.

The most important thing that I hope to accomplish is to bring people together.
An elected official must listen to all his constituents. He must be honest and have a backbone coupled with the ability to come up with solutions that improve people's lives. My campaign slogan is Representation and Justice for All. My campaign committee is the Coalition for Unity, Diversity, and Justice (CUDJ). I am the only legitimate candidate in the race for North Carolina House District 9. I was a corrections officer for eight years. Inmates were routinely beaten and allegedly occasionally hanged just to celebrate the holidays. Justice reform as proposed by the Department of Public Safety is just a code word for continued coverups and abusive practices. Claire Kempner is the Department of Public Safety's candidate.

Dave Davis allegedly committed a violation of G.S. 163-278.32 in that Claire Kempner had not pay her fee and/ or file by 12 p.m. on December 15, 2023 in order to be eligible to be placed on the ballot for N.C. House District 9.

The Notice of Candidacy for Claire Kemper was not filed prior to 12 p.m. on December 15, 2023 because the Committee Name, Committee Address, Committee Address CSZ, and the Committee Phone were never filled out on the Pitt County Candidates' Website.
The Statement of Organization for Claire Kempner shows that the Committee to Elect Claire Kempner was not organized until 12/17/23, two days after the deadline for filing and was not filed with the Pitt County Board of Elections until December 18, 2023.

The Certification of Threshold which would have been signed the date that Claire Kempner would have signed her Certificate of Candidacy is dated December 18, 2023 three days after the deadline. The Candidate Designation of Committee Funds which would have been signed the day that Claire Kempner signed her Notice of Candidacy is dated December 18, 2023.
Knowing that she did not pay her fees or sign the paperwork in time to qualify to be on the ballot, Claire Kempner has allegedly defrauded voters.

The state's greatest challenge over the next decade would be ending racism, discrimination, retaliation, and sexual harassment in the Department of Public Safety.
Redistricting has to be done fairly by an independent commission so that all votes are counted fairly and equally.
Compromise is absolutely essential and desirable for policymaking. All points for view must be listened to
and debated respectfully.

My name is Lenton Credelle Brown. I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with minor in Psychology from East Carolina University.

  • Criminal Justice Reform
  • Increase Minimumm Wage to $10.00 per hour/Meaningful pay increase for all state employees; especially, law enforcement, first responders, and teachers.
  • We need to make education more affordable by offering free tuition to first generation college students whose parents earn below $35,000 annually.
I am running to expand Medicaid which would create 37,000 new jobs, bring in $11.7 billion in federals medicaid matching funds, and help 634,000 North Carolinians get Medicaid coverage by 2022.
Barrack Obama President Obama was about inclusiveness and bringing all Americans together and about helping to improve people's lives throughout the country.
The ability to listen to all the citizens, to treat everyone equally, and the ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions.
The ability to listen to the citizens and to comprehend complex detailed information and to make compassionate decisions that will improve the lives of millions of North Carolinians.
I have a degree in Political Science. I am running to help bring an end to gridlock in the General Assembly. I have already pledged that as a member of the state legislature I will cosponsor, vote for, and defend the resolution applying for an Article V convention for the sole purpose of enacting term limits on Congress. Previous experience in government is not always necessary; and in many cases, it is contributing to the gridlock we see in Washington and in Raleigh.
Criminal Justice Reform We hire 2000 correctional officers each year and each year we lost 2000 correctional officers We are temporarily closing three prisons due to staffing shortages.
Absolutely. I am running to help bring an end to gridlock in the General Assembly. I have already pledged that as a member of the state legislature I will cosponsor, vote for, and defend the resolution applying for an Article V convention for the sole purpose of enacting term limits on Congress. Building
relationships with other legislators is the only way to end the gridlock in Washington and Raleigh.
I will be seeking to serve on committees involving Criminal Justice Reform. As a CJorrectional Officer for eight years, I can provide insight that other candidates for the N.C. House 12 cannot.
Yolanda Harrison observed the brutal beating of the Freddie Pickett who attacked Captain John Gray after Gray allegedly stated that "he was going to kill him a nigger tonight".

Captain Gray, Christian Thomas Russell, and others continued to allegedly criminally assault the inmate even after he was handcuffed and had quit resisting in Violation of State Policy.

She allegedly saw Christian Thomas Russell lift the inmate up and slam him to the floor. Once on the floor, multiple individuals allegedly kicked and stomped the inmate simultaneously.

White personnel were allowed to beat the hell out of the inmate in the middle of Red Unit while on camera with the inmates looking on; while, black officers and staff were told to leave the area and to not come back.

Mr. Daniels allegedly forced a friend of Yolanda Harrison to write a false statement accusing Yolanda Harrison of having sex with an inmate. The friend was told that she would be fired if she failed to write the statement. The inmate after being transferred from Maury Correctional says "nothing happened".

Mrs. Yolanda Harrison was told if she didn't sign a false confession that they would set her bail so high that she would not be able to afford bail and would not be able to return home and see her children.

Mrs. Harrison has lost her job and is facing years in prison when she committed no crime.

Like Yolanda Harrison, hundreds of black officers at Maury Correctional have been framed and fired for simply witnessing or reporting excessive use of force incident by white officers.
