Lawrence Allen Jr.
Lawrence Allen Jr. (Democratic Party) (also known as Skully) was a member of the Texas State Board of Education, representing District 4. He assumed office in 2005. He left office on January 1, 2023.
Allen (Democratic Party) ran for election to the Texas House of Representatives to represent District 26. He lost in the Democratic primary on March 1, 2022.
Biography
As of November 2017, Allen was the director of special projects for the Houston Independent School District. He had previously served as an administrator and teacher in middle and high schools across the district.[1]

Political career
Texas State Board of Education (2005-2023)
Allen was first elected to the board in a November 2004 special election and took office in January 2005. He was re-elected in 2006, 2010, 2012, and 2014.
