Lauren Book
Lauren Book (Democratic Party) was a member of the Florida State Senate, representing District 35. She assumed office on November 8, 2022. She left office on November 5, 2024.
Book (Democratic Party) won re-election to the Florida State Senate to represent District 35 outright after the general election on November 8, 2022, was canceled.
Book was elected state Senate minority leader on April 28, 2021.[1]
Biography
Lauren Book was born in Hollywood, Florida. Book earned a B.A. in elementary education and creative writing and an M.S. in community psychology and social change from the University of Miami in 2008 and 2012, respectively. Her career experience includes founding and working as the CEO of Lauren's Kids. Book has been affiliated with the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking Direct-Support Organization Board of Directors, the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet, and the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Public Safety Commission, and has served as a child advocate, a board member and vice president of Florida Network of Children's Advocacy Centers, and a board member of Broward County Crime Stoppers.[2]
