I am the youngest of 6 children. I tragically lost my mother when I was 5 years old. So I grew up in a single parent home. My father was 30 when my mother died. He had to work 2 jobs to raise 6 children. We were poor. However, I excelled in school and got good grades.

I graduated from college with 2 degrees, business administration and real estate. I am a successful businessman. I started my own real estate brokerage firm 25 years ago. I also taught real estate for over 10 years at acommunity college, Richland College.

After 5 attempts to win office, I became a Dallas City Councilman in 2017. Therefore, I am a people person. I know how to solve complex problems.
  • Experience makes the difference! I am a former Dallas City Councilman. Therefore, I have experience in negotiating line items and passing two multi billion dollar budgets and one billion dollar bond proposition.
  • I am a succesful real estate brokerage business owner. I understand business. I understand real estate. I understatnd people. I help people buy, sell, lease and invest in real estate. I specialize in corporate relocation.
  • I am a fighter. I don't back down from tough issues! I will stand up for the people over big business every time!
I am passionate about affordable housing. I have 25 years of experience in real estate so I consider myself a subject matter expert. There is an acute shortage of affordable housing and that shortage fuels poverty, crime and homelessness. I want to find solutions to the affordable housing crisis.Rent is unaffordable and home ownership has become unaffordable.

I want to find a solution to the gun epidemic in this country. There are too many people being slaughtered with military grade assualt rifles. I don't buy the argument that the second amendment allows individuals to own assualt rifles. I want to raise the age limit to buy guns to 21, have a 60 day wait period and attach a liability insurance policy to the gun and the owner for any shootings and deaths that occur as a result of shooting that gun

We need comprehensive immigration reform. We must stop the mass illegal immigration into the United States. We have to fix our immigration system and create a legal path to citizenship. The current immigration influx of illegal immigration is unsustainable and untenable.
I look up to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I would like to follow his example of challenging the government to live up to the words of the U S Constitution. African Americans are stilled treated as 2nd class citizens in the United States and that has to change. I am willing to fight for that change.
I want to leave a legacy of improving the quality of life of the people that I served.
The Mayor of Gary, Indiana, my hometown, became the first black mayor in america. I was 8 years old.
Evicted by Matthew Desmond. This book delves into the lives of several families that face problems in housing that result into eviction. I think many elected officials should read this book to get a clear understanding of the housing crisis and evictions that are plauging our society in america.
man in the mirrior by Michael Jackson
Understanding racism and discrimination has been a struggle in my life.
Each Representative comes from a different community, background, socioeconomic background and race that makes the House of Representatives a melting pot of our society.
No, two years is too short. I think 8 years should be the limit.
I support term limits. A poltical office should not be a place where an elected official stays for 30 years.
Yes. I heard froma lady that needed home repairs and applied for the program and she was denied 3 times, each time being told, were are out of funds, sorry first come first served.
Have you heard of this new restaurant called Karma? No I haven't . What's on the menu? There is no menu, you get what you deserve.
Yes, compromise is the key to progress in policymaking. It requires give and take on both sides.
No orgaanizations have endorsed my campaign yet. I have over 100 individual endorsements.
