Yamashita (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Hawaii House of Representatives to represent District 12. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Kyle Yamashita was born in Pukalani, HI. He attended Leeward Community College. Yamashita's career experience includes owning and operating a small business. He has been a member of the Parent Teacher Student Association at King Kekaulike High School and a scoutmaster for Pukalani Troop 75. He was elected to the Hawaii State House of Representatives in 2007.[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 3, 2014. Incumbent Kyle T. Yamashita was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Richard H. Pohle was unopposed in the Republican primary. Yamashita defeated Pohle in the general election.[5][6][7]

On November 4, 2008, Yamashita won re-election to the Hawaii House of Representatives from Hawaii's 12th District, defeating Mickey Vierra (R). Yamashita received 7,151 votes in the election while Vierra received 2,879 votes.[12] Yamashita raised $85,648 for his campaign; Vierra raised $15,304.[13]
