Julie Bronstein is an experienced nonprofit leader, education advocate, and mom of two current San Dieguito Union High School District students and one proud SDUHSD graduate.

As our School Board Member, Julie will work to: ensure academic excellence in every neighborhood school, improve college counseling services, promptly respond to questions and concerns from parents, expand S.T.E.A.M. programs so that students are prepared for college, support teachers as they return to full-time in-person instruction, and responsibly manage our district’s budget.

Professionally, Julie currently serves as Executive Director of Development at UC San Diego, and volunteers as a Boardmember for the Canyon Crest Academy Foundation and as an advisor for the Autism Tree Project Foundation.

A graduate of Scripps College with a master’s degree in Public Administration from USC, Julie has spent the past three decades working in non-profit organizations focused on education, health, and community improvement.

“We live in an incredible community with truly wonderful schools. As a mom, education advocate, and non-profit leader, I want to use my experience to support our students, teachers, and parents to ensure that our children receive the best education. It would be my honor to serve our students.”

I am passionate about ensuring a high quality pubic education for all 13,000 students in SDUHSD and am committed to helping them succeed. I’m a collaborative problem solver who will look for innovative ways to ensure our district remains #1 in San Diego County. I will focus strongly on safeguarding our tax dollars and serving as a watchdog over the district’s budget. In addition, I offer a unique skill set gained from my career and service background that will enable me to make a meaningful impact in protecting and enhancing the quality of public education in SDUHSD.
