Biography
John Grow was born in Michigan. He earned a high school diploma from Paradise High School and a bachelor's degree from California State University, Chico in 1988. His career experience includes working as a software engineer.[1]

I'm a Software Engineer, 30-year resident of our district, married for 40 years, three sons, thirteen grandchildren, and have never run for any political office. This election is different, which is why I decided to run. America is in bad shape with rampant inflation, uncontrolled immigration, government corruption, and a never-ending grab for more of our money while giving up more and more of our control. IT MUST STOP! We the People are the owners of this country, NOT the servants. Those elected to Washington (and their appointees) are out of control with regard to spending, overreach, and simply ignoring their constituents. I've had enough of this, and so has a majority of us! But perhaps more urgently, our "systems" are COMPLETELY broken and need to be fixed. I'm just the Software Engineer for the job! If elected, I WILL take on Congress and push for Real change, not the re-arranging of deck chairs on the Titanic. Americans are resilient, but we need to join President Trump in DRAINING THE SWAMP--only then will we put American on a more solid footing for our magnificent future. And may God grant it to be so!
- In traditional Chinese medicine, the doctor gets paid when the patient gets well. What a contrast to our upside-down system! Just imagine if doctors, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies were the ones REQUIRED to carry insurance, and those seeking cures didn't have to pay unless there was success, so that the providers had to cover themselves in case they failed to help the patient. Of course, that sounds foreign to our ears because we've become accustomed to PAYING for health providers to "manage" our diseases, not cure them. Our current system rewards the never-ending treatment model, not the "cure the patient" model. It's inverted. We need to challenge the current paradigms.
- Our money is based on DEBT, not wealth. Most Americans do not realize that eliminating our "national debt" would actually eliminate all currency from circulation. This is because the model that we run on is EXACTLY BACKWARDS from the one that we have to run our own households upon. If you go to the store, you need to have the money to pay for the items. But not our government! When they need money, they issue debt, which is bought by the Fed using IMAGINARY MONEY ("fiat" currency), and We the People are left owing our money back with interest--and the money was pulled literally out of thin air. The Fed isn't even a real government entity, it's a private one--what a scam against the people.
- Why have we not been told the truth about President John F. Kennedy's assassination? Why are over 6000 patents (for medical cures, advanced technology, etc.) currently locked down under "National Security" orders? What's going on? If you're an American, then you are part of our Republic, which means that you are the OWNER, not the SLAVE--Congress works for YOU (not the reverse). The notion that the "employees" of our government have the right to keep the OWNERS from seeing or knowing what's going on (not counting an ongoing operation to save life or prevent its loss) is simply incongruent with our Constitution. RELEASE these generational secrets, and as for spying on it's citizens
We need to repair (or replace) our broken systems. Simply passing more laws that are built on this current infrastructure is like building a house on sand. Yes, we MUST tackle inflation, immigration, and a host of other issues--but to make the fixes LONG TERM, we must change the inverted, upside-down systems themselves: Base healthcare on Wellness, not sickness; base our economy on Wealth, not debt; base our agriculture on who God created, not what ag companies have bio-engineered; base our defense on DEFENSE OF OUR NATION, not the spreading of "democracy" everywhere else; and eliminate the security state and spying on the American people--it's completely un-Constitutional. We can do better--and we WILL--time to work!
Thomas Jefferson was a polymath, which makes him very resonant for me. He was an architect, statesman, linguist, musician, author, inventor, ambassador, founding father, and, of course, President (among other things). His writings and his mind are very inspirational to me, and his love of liberty and his commitment to seeing that we included the Bill of Rights into the Constitution (Jefferson was in France at the time, writing to Madison to spur him on to making sure that happened), was monumental for this country.
Not to seem obvious, but perhaps the best written work that reflects my own philosophy is the Declaration of Independence as penned by Thomas Jefferson (and assisted by John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and others). It is an absolutely magnificent document, because it perhaps captured, more than any other, that we are FREE individuals because God has given it (and not because the King or some other ruler granted it). The notion that we are sovereigns on the SAME LEVEL as the King was a Revolutionary concept, and one that we would do well to remember. My own life has been built, and based, very much upon the Bible, and I have endeavored to read and listen as widely as possible to all sources of wise and prudent advice, council, and instruction.
Honesty is perhaps the most important characteristic, because if we can't trust our elected officers, we've lost our way. Integrity, Wisdom, and Love are also wholly necessary. One can't legislate effectively without genuine love for those being represented! Additionally, a fierce streak of liberty-mindedness is important, because we are sovereign Americans that do NOT have overlords or masters--we are the ones in-charge, and we elect individuals to represent us, not stand over us!
I see the assumptions that lie under the surface of an argument or position that many overlook--it's wired into me by God--and I often see other ways to accomplish something that have stalled a process. Once, years ago when I had my software company in Jacksonville, I walked into an ongoing meeting that some of my engineers were having with a client. I stood back against the wall for a few minutes just listening when I realized that our engineers were trying to solve the problem as presented by the client, but that wasn't the actual problem. The client wanted to know if our product could be adapted to use optical character recognition so that data sheets they scanned in could be processed and then forwarded on to the systems they were connecting with. So I interrupted the discussion and introduced myself as the CEO, and asked the client a single question, "The data that you have printed out and are needing to scan--where does it originate?" Their reply, "An IBM DB2 system." All of my engineers looked at me with expressions of embarrassment, because this was actually a straightforward case of extracting the data from the IBM database, and moving it to the Oracle system. But our engineers got caught up in trying to solve the "OCR" question without seeing the bigger picture. And we were quickly and easily able to solve their problem. But seeing the broader picture and the underlying assumptions comes very easily to me, and I think that Congress might benefit from some of it.
The most important responsibility is to support and defend our Constitution, represent the people honorably AND transparently, and listen to those who elected me! It is my intention, as God gives me wit, to discharge these duties as honestly and reliably as I possibly can--and to seek advice and wisdom from those who display good character, intelligence, and humility.
1) Drain the Swamp, 2) Eliminate 50% of the 438 agencies currently in "service", 3) Fix our money system, 4) Fix our "healthcare" system, 5) Fix our immigration system, 6) Root out the systemic corruption, 7) End ALL war and conflict, 8) See the prosperity of the American people triple, 9) Release all currently locked-down patents and inventions and all files (JFK) that have been hidden from us.
The first major event that I remember was the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. when I was seven years old.
I worked at a broasted chicken place in Paradise, CA, and had the job for a few months before getting a job as a stock clerk for a marine mechanics outfit.
"Lord of the Rings" has been a book that I return to over and over (and I'm lumping all three into one because they were originally written that way). It has...everything! I also love the Narnia series by C.S. Lewis. But if I had to pick only one, it would be Tolkien's work.

Giving people too much information when they only want a little. I like ideas, and discussing ideas, and even debating ideas. When I get going on a topic that I'm passionate about (and I'm interested in a LOT of things), I can overwhelm some people. I've been warned off saying too much, and sometimes I'm mindful about it, but sometimes I just get going and...
37.2% of the House of Representatives is composed of lawyers, and 0.36% of the U.S. population are lawyers, so the House is unique in that lawyers are overrepresented by 103.33 times...sounds like something's up.

It is appearing, more and more, that our own government is pitted against us as a people. The weaponization of our government against President Trump has been both astonishing, and eye-opening. Who knew??? I think that it's safe to say that none of us realized just how corrupt our own institutions have become, with a very blatant and obvious two-tiered system of justice. This is perhaps the greatest challenge that we have. But equal to it is the fiat currency system that is causing all of our inflation. The central banks are out of control, and it's high time that we based our money on gold, silver, or some other real assets, and not simply on air. And we need to audit the Fed.
It's what in the Constitution. But I'm in favor of limiting it to a total of three terms (6 years).
The reason that we need term limits is because once elected, it's very hard to get the rascals out--even when it's way past time that they did. This ability to spend (as in Biden's case) over 40 years in government is a real problem. I am for reasonable term-limits for both myself (if I am elected) and for others.
I admire those who want to stir things up a bit, and not the conformist, tag-along types.
Yes, one gentleman gave me insight into some of his thinking, and why. His passion was very compelling.
Two farmers each had a bunch of pigs. One had boars, and one had sows, and they wanted to get them together to make little piglets. So they arranged to each drive 30 minutes to a field that lay in-between their farms and let the pigs out to "do what comes natural." When the farmer of the sows got ready to do this, he realized that getting a bunch of sows into a station wagon was really hard work. He pushed, and pulled, and shouted, and did everything he could to get all the pigs inside, and it nearly wore him out. When he got to the field, the other farmer was already there and his boars were out in the field. So he let his sows out with them. As they were talking, the farmer with the sows asked, "How will we know if this works? How will I know if my sows are pregnant?" The other farmer replied, "Oh, that's easy! Tomorrow when you wake up, just go observe them. If they are grazing in the field, it took. But if they're rolling in the mud, it didn't take, so we'll have to do this again." So the next day, the farmer with the sows got up and went to the window. Sure enough, the sows were all rolling in the mud. So he called the other farmer and told him that they'd have to do it again. So he pushed, and pulled, and shouted, and finally got all the sows into the station wagon and drove them to the field. This went on all week, as every day the sows were always rolling in the mud. On Saturday, the farmer turned to his wife, "Honey, I can't bear to look. Would you please get up and go look at those dang pigs? Are they finally grazing in the field, or are they rolling in the mud?" His wife got up and looked, "Neither one, " she said. "What do you mean," replied the farmer, what are they doing?" She looked at him and said, "Well, they're all sitting in the station wagon, and one of them is honking the horn."
Compromise is necessary for negotiation, but the word has come to convey "giving in" rather than triangulating on ideas. It's necessary to communicate, and some of that will be with those who do NOT see eye-to-eye on some issues. But I believe that compromising for the sake of "going along to get along" is the wrong kind--we must compromise only when it will not endanger or train-wreck our country. Too many members of Congress will compromise to get paid from a back-room deal. No, we MUST learn to speak and understand each other first, then and only then should compromise enter into the picture.
Our monetary system is broken, and our system of taxation is completely broken. We managed to run this country for a very long time before income tax was permanently introduced via the 16th amendment at 1% (with a surtax add up to 7% for top earners). It has always been used as a control mechanism and not for meaningful revenue (which is what issuing debt is all about). Fixing our monetary system is a high priority.
Investigating the weaponization of the federal government against its own population would be a very good start, and has started. But there is a long way to go to hold those accountable who have betrayed the American trust.

As an engineer, space, technology, and banking are areas of interest...but I can't say that I find doing anything via "committee" to be very appealing!
Our government has completely failed in both departments. Our government is neither transparent (I refer to JFK's assassination as a prime example), and acts as if it's accountable to none. They give lip-service all day long to listening to the voters, but they do NOT! This MUST CHANGE!
