Biography
Carson earned his B.B.A. in accounting from Georgia State University in 1994 and his M.B.A. in finance from Kennesaw State University in 1998. His professional experience includes working in banking and commercial real estate finance.[1]

Elections for the Georgia House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014, with runoff elections taking place where necessary on July 22, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 7, 2014. Incumbent John K. Carson was unopposed in the Republican primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[6][7][8]

Carson ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 46. Carson defeated Martin L. Hawley in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. Kevin Westphal ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.[9] The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[10][11] Carson defeated Westphal in the general election.[12]

Carson defeated Robert Lamutt (R) in the October 18, 2011 special election runoff by a 1,250-668 margin. Carson and Lamutt were the top two vote-getters in the September 20 open primary, defeating Geraldine Wade (R), Don Hill (R), and Roy Barnes (R).[13][14]
