Joanne Verger
Joanne Verger (b. July 19, 1930) is a former Democratic member of the Oregon State Senate, representing District 5 from 2005 to her retirement in 2013.
Verger was on the Coos Bay City Council from 1990 to 1992. She then served as Mayor of Coos Bay, Oregon, from 1992 to 2000. She served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2000 to 2005.
Biography
Verger attended both Louisiana State University and Northwestern State University. Her professional experience includes working as a speech therapist, in advertising and marketing and as the Co-Owner of Verger Chrysler Plymouth Dodge.[1]

On November 4, 2008, Verger won re-election to the 5th District in the Oregon State Senate. Verger had no challenger.[2][3]
2004

Elections for the office of Oregon State Senate consisted of a primary election on May 18, 2004, and a general election on November 2, 2004.[4] Joanne Verger was unopposed in the Democratic primary for District 5, and Al Pearn was unopposed in the Republican primary. Verger defeated Pearn in the general election.[5][6]
