My name is Joshua Lewis, and I am a lifelong resident of the district in which I am seeking election. I was born in Upson County, Georgia in 1994 to a family of love, patriotism, and struggle. My core memories are rooted in the challenges that engulfed my family and community when the textile industry left Thomaston. I have experienced the aftermath of an inept government as an adult. It's true. I don't have experience as a legislator, and I've never had a fancy office. I do, however, have experience working alongside many of my constituents. I have experienced what it's like as a working-class citizen trying to make ends meet. That's all I've ever known. That's what I want to bring to the table as a State Legislator. I want to show the people of Central Georgia what true representation looks like. I want to give the people a choice, but even further I want to provide them with hope. As a legislator I will work tirelessly to bring about political accountability, lower personal liability taxes, and expanded freedom. For our children. For our country. For our future.
  • I support legislation that holds politicians accountable such as term limits, and stock trade restrictions.
  • I support legislation that will reduce/ eliminate taxes related to our state income tax and personal property tax.
  • I support legislation that will open our economy to new and existing industries. I will introduce legislation that allows the residents of Georgia the chance to vote on cannabis legalization. My goal is to encourage economic growth by promoting freedom and allowing our citizens to keep more of their paychecks.
I am passionate about making Georgia affordable for the people who call this great state home. I believe that is directly connected to expanded industries, fiscal responsibility, political accountability, and reduced personal tax liabilities.
I look up to my late grandmother, Marsha Lewis. Her love for her family and country continues to be a cornerstone for who I am as a man today.
I am deeply patriotic and extremely motivated to bring about prosperity in The Peach State.
The core responsibility of an elected official is to stand for the core values of their constituents.
I want to provide my children with an example of what it means to be a good man.
The first historical moment I can vividly remember is 9/11. I was seven years old, and the events of that day still resonate with me strongly.
My first job was at Keadle Lumber Company in Thomaston, Georgia.
I have struggled with the division that many organizations of perpetrated on the American populous.
The Governor should work alongside the state legislature to bring about legislation that benefits the people not the government.
The greatest difficulties facing our state include inflation, high taxes, lack of industry, and corruption.
I believe that it is more beneficial to have experience related to the average person.
Building strong relationships and coalitions will be a necessary step in instituting any real meaningful change. If we want to bring freedom and prosperity to The Peach State, we are going to have to show strength through unity.
A bill to call for a special election in which the people of Georgia will directly vote on the legality of cannabis.
SuperPacs provide too much power to the financially elite. Our representatives are there to represent us, not to become wealthy. It's time to enact term limits and hold our elected officials accountable.
