Joseph Simpson
Joseph Simpson (Democratic Party) was a member of the Indianapolis City Council, representing District 7. Simpson assumed office in 2012. Simpson left office on January 1, 2020.
Simpson (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Indianapolis City Council to represent District 7. Simpson did not appear on the ballot for the Democratic primary on May 7, 2019.
He was elected to the District 9 seat on the council in 2011, and won election to the District 7 seat on November 3, 2015.[1]
Biography
Simpson has served as the director of administration for Indiana Legal Services, Inc. for over 35 years.[1]

The city of Indianapolis, Indiana, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. A partisan primary election took place on May 5, 2015. The filing deadline for major party candidates who wished to run in this election was February 6, 2015. The filing deadline for independent or minor party candidates was July 15, 2015.[2] Twenty-five city council seats were up for election. Indianapolis's four at-large seats were not up for election, because those seats were scheduled to expire at the end of 2015.[3]
In District 7, Joseph Simpson (D) defeated Adrianne L. Slash (R) in the general election. Slash filed to run after the primary.[4] Incumbent Maggie A. Lewis (D) ran for election to the District 10 seat.[5]
