Howard Maxwell
Howard Maxwell was a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 17. He was first elected to the chamber in 2002. He did not file for re-election in 2018.
Maxwell served as chair/vice-chair of the Paulding County School Board from 1989 to 2002.
Biography
At the time of his service in the legislature, Maxwell's professional experience included working as an insurance agent. He served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1970.[1]

Elections for the Georgia House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014, with runoff elections taking place where necessary on July 22, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 7, 2014. Incumbent Howard Richard Maxwell defeated David S. Maxwell ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 17. Maxwell ran unopposed in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[9] Maxwell won re-election in the general election.[10]

2010
Maxwell ran for re-election to the 16th District seat in 2010. He did not face any opposition in the July 20 primary and no one filed to run against him in the general election. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[11]

In 2008 Maxwell was re-elected to the Georgia House of Representatives District 17. Maxwell (R) ran unopposed and finished with 24,987 votes.[12] Maxwell raised $24,400 for his campaign fund.[13]

At the time of his service in the legislature, Maxwell was a member of the American Legislators Exchange Council, Dallas Rotary Club, Georgia Association of Insurance Agents and Finance Advisors, Paulding County Chamber of Commerce, and Wellstar Paulding Hospital Board, present.[1]
