Georgia Independent School District Tax Exemptions, Amendment 17 (1972)

The Georgia Independent School District Tax Exemptions Amendment, also known as Amendment 17, was on the ballot in Georgia on November 7, 1972, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The measure provided that homesteads owned by individuals over the age of 62 years be exempted from ad valorem taxes for independent school districts.[1]
