The following issues were listed on Flinn's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Conservative Values: A real conservative expects to work hard and be paid, not take entitlements. A real conservative builds and creates and doesn’t live off of the taxpayers, unlike so many people running for office today. I promise to take my conservative values and put them to work for you while serving as your Congressman.
  • National Debt, Spending, and Tax Reform: We are in so much debt, it’s hard to even comprehend how we will dig ourselves out of this mess. We are broke, we are still spending like there is no tomorrow, and if we keep this up, there might not be.
  • Healthcare: It is time for you to have control over your health insurance coverage again. People across our nation are still having troubles due to Obamacare. Whether it’s massive job loss, loss of coverage, or increase in monthly premiums, Obamacare has done the opposite of what it has promised.
  • National Security: Our military has been cut to Pre-World War II levels while global threats increase. We must have a strong and modern military capable of responding to those threats. Our allies must know we are there to support and protect them.
  • Protecting Our Borders: We know the borders are not secure and that they need to be fixed. Not just because people are coming to America looking for work, but because there are people that want to harm us. People that will slip across the borders to do us harm.

[11]

—George Flinn's campaign website, http://flinnfor8.com/conservative-values/

2012

According to Flinn's website, his campaign themes included:

  • Jobs: "Congress must do more to make the United States the most desirable nation in the world for business."
  • Taxes: "We must rollback out of control spending and borrowing. Big government is not the answer to our problems."
  • Healthcare: "I support common sense solutions like being able to take your policy across state lines, allowing you to keep your insurance if you lose or change jobs, lawsuit abuse reform that stops greedy trial lawyers from driving up basic health care costs and stop insurance companies from discriminating against patients with pre-existing conditions."[12]
