Howard ran for re-election to the Metropolitan Utilities District Board of Directors to represent Subdivision 3 in Nebraska. Howard won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Howard previously served as a member of the Nebraska Unicameral, representing District 9 from 2005 to 2012.[1] She also sought election to Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012. Members of the Nebraska State Senate are nonpartisan, but Howard ran as a Democratic candidate for the U.S. House.[2] She was defeated by John Ewing in the Democratic primary.[3]
Biography
Howard earned a bachelor's degree in sociology and psychology from Midland Lutheran College and an M.S.W. from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Her professional experience includes work as a social worker and adoption specialist for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.[1]
