Three Green Township Fire Levy Renewal measures were on the March 6, 2012 ballot in the township of Green which is in Clark County.

The first measure sought to renew the current fire district 1 levy which was set at a rate of $.15 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for fire protection services and maintenance costs in the district.

  • NO: 131 (31.12%)

The second measure sought to renew the current fire district 1 levy which was set at a rate of $.10 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for equipment maintenance costs in the district.

  • YES: 287 (68.5%) Approveda
  • NO: 132 (31.5%)

The third measure sought to renew the current fire district 2 levy which was set at a rate of $.10 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for fire protection services and equipment maintenance costs in the district.[1]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Proposal 1: A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Green Township, Fire District #1, for the purpose of providing protection against fire, to provide and maintain fire apparatus, building site, buildings, sources of water supply and materials at a rate not exceeding 1.5 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.15 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2013, first due in calendar year 2014.[3]
