Emily Alvarado (Democratic Party) is a member of the Washington State Senate, representing District 34. She assumed office on January 21, 2025. Her current term ends on January 12, 2026.
Alvarado (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Washington House of Representatives to represent District 34-Position 1. She won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
The King County Council appointed Alvarado to the Washington State Senate District 34 on January 21, 2025, to replace Joe Nguyen (D).[1]
Biography
Emily Alvarado earned a B.A. in American studies from Scripps College in 2003 and a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in 2009. Her career experience includes working as an attorney and as a policy director of the Housing Development Consortium of Seattle, director of policy and outreach for Pittsburgh United, director of the City of Seattle's Office of Housing, and vice president and Pacific Northwest market leader for Enterprise Community Partners.[2]
