Bruns was appointed to the court by Republican Governor Sam Brownback on April 15, 2011.[1] Bruns was officially sworn in on June 3, 2011.[2] He was retained by voters in 2012 and 2016.[3]
Education
Bruns earned an A.A. in pre-law from Kansas City Kansas Community College in 1979 and a B.S. in education from the University of Kansas in 1981. He received his J.D. with honors from Washburn University School of Law in 1984.[1][4]
