Robinson's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]

Safe neighborhoods

  • Excerpt: "While on Council he has championed the hiring of 65 new police officers and 22 new animal control (BARC) employees to help make Houston safe. David has also led the charge for a work demands analysis for the Houston Fire Department, ensuring that all neighborhoods are efficiently covered by the Department."

Improving communities

  • Excerpt: "Like all Houstonians, David is well aware that our streets and sidewalks need attention. He has fought for over $10 million in pothole and street repairs. A champion for multi-modal transportation options, David has overseen the creation and funding of Houston’s Bicycle Master Plan and has led the charge in the implementation of the Bayou Greenways initiative, creating over 150 miles of parks and trails around Houston’s Bayous."

Wise investments

  • Excerpt: "A believer in fiscal responsibility David has ensured that the City’s budget has been balanced without raising the tax rate (63.875¢/$100 of taxable property). As Council Member, David has worked to identify cost savings by improving efficiencies and has a proven track record of working with other local government entities, school districts and with Harris County towards increasing cooperation and reducing redundant tasks."

Responsive government

  • Excerpt: "David’s office has earned a reputation for their responsiveness to constituent concerns. Whether it’s a pothole that needs filling or an illegal dumping site that needs to be cleaned up, David works hard to 'get the job done.'"
