Downers Grove Village Term Limit Question (April 2011)
A Downers Grove Village Term Limit Question was on the April 5, 2011 ballot in the village of Downers Grove, which is in DuPage County.
This measure was approved
- YES 4,971 (79.7%)
- NO 1,266 (20.3%)[1]
This measure sought to enact term limits for the village Mayor and Commissioners, the Mayor will be limited to two consecutive four-year terms and the commissioners will be limited to three four-year terms. This was strongly supported in an advisory question voted on in November 2010, leading commissioners to put this on the ballot. This will go into effect for those voted into office in 2011 and previous terms would not be applied to the new limits.[2]

The question on the ballot:
| Shall the following term limits be placed on the offices of Mayor and Commissioners for the Village of Downers Grove to be effective for officials elected at the April 5, 2011 Consolidated Election and all those elected thereafter?
a) Mayoral term limited to two (2) consecutive four (4) year terms. b) Six Village Commissioners limited to three (3) consecutive four (4) year terms each.[3][4] |
