I am a Christian and a progressive thinker that believes that the best of Georgia is in the future. My strengths are analyzing, planning, troubleshooting, and working collaboratively to solve problems. It is my belief that we are better together, and that together, we are the answer to create an affordable world-class educational system, fair voting practices, fair living wages, and an affordable and accessible health care system for all Georgians.

I am a 3rd generation Georgian; a graduate of Charles L. Harper High, where I was a member of the student government, ran cross country, and the captain of the basketball and baseball teams. I earned a BA degree in Economics from Dartmouth College. Retiring after 40 years in the field of engineering, I am now the Co-owner of a family business, C34Sure Travel. I am married to a retired educator, the proud father of 2 daughters, 1 bonus son, and 3 grandchildren.

  • Quality and Affordable Education System
  • Affordable and Accessible Health Care
  • Common-sense Budgeting
When I view the direction of Georgia that I want and that I think is best for the people of Georgia; an affordable world-class education system, fair voting practices, fair living wages, an affordable and accessible health care system, equal opportunities for all, clean air, water and energy, I see a need for common-sense budgeting. There is a need to look at the 'Big Picture' from a domino perspective. Consideration must be given before budget cuts on how various policies affect each other. For instance, the effect of cutting the education budget that impacts programs addressing the development of students and their abilities to become viable members of the workforce could negatively impact fair housing, crime, healthcare, etc... How we allocate our budget will determine the future of Georgia.
My inspiration comes from several family members; my aunt Ella Mae Brayboy, an advocate for voter registration, taught me the importance of one's voice being heard through voting. My uncle Lyndon Wade taught me the importance of employment readiness through education and training, and my father, Claude Marshall, taught me the importance of fairness in the workplace through his fight for inclusion.
The characteristics that I bring to the position are humility, honesty, open-minded, analytical, thoughtful, future-oriented and a Christian. In addition, I am community-oriented and a willing listener for I believe that we are better together and that together we are the answer to any problem that might arise.
I am a Christian and a progressive individual who believe that the best of Georgia is in the future. I like analyzing, planning, and troubleshooting problems and various situations.
It is my belief that we are better together and that together we are the answer to creating a world-class educational system, fair voting practices, fair living wage, an affordable and accessible health care system.
As an elected official, I believe we should be accountable to our constituents; willing to listen to their concerns; and make decisions for the betterment of the community.
At the age of 14, the landing of Apollo 11 on the moon gave me a profound sense of accompaniment. The landing on the moon in July of 1969 and later the walk on the moon, highlighted to me that when people work together, they can achieve anything. It is my desire to work with the people of Georgia to make Georgia a better place to live.
My first job was in the telecommunications industry where I worked for over 40 years. This is where I learned to look at problems from a long-term perspective with a short-term urgency. It was during this time I honed my skills in management, working with people, analysis and planning that enables me to have a holistic view of Georgia's future.
The benefits of experience in government can be positive or negative. If an individual is not flexible and complacent in their ways, they could hinder the progress that is needed to keep up with a changing society.
Creating laws that will adapt to the ever-changing world and be inclusive for all people.
In order for Georgia to become the great state it can be, the governor and the state legislature need to respect each other and be in alignment with the direction of the state. I believe when people work together, they can achieve anything. It is my desire to work with the people of Georgia to make Georgia a better place to live.

In order for Georgia to become the great state it can be, it is important that individual lawmakers regardless of party affiliation need to respect each other, work together and be in alignment for the best of the state. It is my desire to work with the people of Georgia to make Georgia a better place to live.
