I'm a retired educator, a grandmother, and a strong believer in community, education, and balanced policies. I'm very familiar with the struggles of struggles of the kids and teachers in our education system. I'm excited about learning, and have way too many hobbies!
  • Support public education, and protect/increase education funding education. American public education available to all has been a key to America's success.
  • The importance of being moderate! Extremists are responsible for rash decisions, and for enabling each other. Extremists fly planes into buildings. Extremists attack the capital of their own nation. Extremists prevent necessary progress. We need moderation. The truth lies somewhere in the middle!
  • I'd like to keep the 2 party system alive and well - Even in one of the most conservative parts of Utah.
Supporting education and strengthening democracy
My mom. She was a high-powered, mold breaking business woman and county official in the era of Donna Reed. She charted her own path.
The ability to talk about difficult problems without pointing fingers, and work towards reasonable solutions.
To put the needs of your constituency ahead of your own ambition.
The hymn: "We Are Sowing". I sing it all the time, and substitute whatever I'm doing for the word "sowing". (ie "we are sweeping", "we are eating", etc.)
Yes, to a point. I think we need both experience and "new blood", to maintain a balance between chaos and stagnation.
Not just yes, but hell yes! I think it is how work gets done - by chatting, cajoling, and convincing.
